About Jack Yates JROTC
HOME OF THE LIONS
Jack Yates JROTC Program was established in September 1958 as National Defense Cadet Corps under the leadership of CPT. A. Brailsford and 1 Lt. R. Miles. The program was lost in 1974 but was re-established in 1994 as the 19th Battalion.
Jack Yates High School has competitive drill teams, excellent color guard, and an outstanding rifle team. Our list of teambuilding activities also include marksmanship, physical fitness, and robotics teams for all interested students.
CITIZENSHIP, leadership, character and community service are the core tenets of high school Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps programs, or JROTC. Those values are at the heart of the JROTC Cadet Creed that emphasizes working to better a student's school, community, and country.
